Märkused

Baltikumis a-st 1762, kõigepealt Kuramaal Jelgavas, kus asutas koos filoloogi Jakob Friedrich Hinz'iga (1743-1787), omakandimehega Ida-Preisimaalt Neidenburgist, raamatuäri 1762, viis selle üle Riiga 1767. Esimene kaasaegne, seejuures rahvusvaheliseltki silmapaistev raamatukaupmees Baltikumis. Kirjastas mh valgustajate Johann Gottfried Herder'i ja Immanuel Kant'i teoseid.
