The Ritual Year WG Spring 2022 Seasonal Webinar

Our Spring 2022 webinar will take place on Thursday, 31 March 2022, at 16:00 Tallinn time (14:00 GMT) via MS Teams. The theme, decided months in advance, could not have been more suitable during these violent times, as what else brings people together better than ball games?!

Laurent S. Fournier, our WG Co-Chair, will introduce us to The Rules of the Ba’ in Great Britain and France; Emily Lyle, our founder and Honorary-Chair, will talk about The Melrose Marriage Ball and its Myth and Ritual Contexts in a Dualistic Cosmos; Neill Martin will share his experiences at the Jedburgh Hand Ba, together with his students; while John Messner will talk about maintaining this ancient and popular custom: An Exploration of the 1922 Jedburgh Hand Ba’ Games.

The webinar and the discussions will, as usual, be moderated by Irina Sedakova and Mare Kõiva.
