Sarduy essees \u201eBarroco\u201d (1974) ja esseekogumikus \u201eEnsayos generales sobre el barroco\u201d (1987) n\u00e4eme, kuidas autori esseistika l\u00e4heneb tema ilukirjanduslikele tekstidele, s.o on l\u00e4binisti barokne. Sarduy teooria ja praktika ongi nii esseistikas kui ka ilukirjanduses (aga ka tema (auto)biograafias) tihedalt p\u00f5imunud ning \u00fche eristamine teisest v\u00f5ib tihtipeale olla keeruline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ettekandes keskendutakse Sarduy luuleloomingule. Loetakse kogumikku \u201eBig Bang\u201d (1974), v\u00f5ttes l\u00e4htekohaks, et luule on Sarduy esseistika pikendus ning tema ideede katselabor. Tema keerukas barokses keeles proosa ning luule on aga pigem j\u00e4\u00e4nud L\u00f5una-Ameerika avangardse neobaroki viimaseks verstapostiks.
